Kodi kutthiya ooru', that is Kodiyathur. Most of the flags from most common thoughts, religious, sub-religious, political, cultural bodies. are positioned here from olden era itself. Even if Kodiyathur is splendid with different thoughts, the village has not been witnessed a communal riots or political assassin up to this date.
The village has get into the national political history through Mohammed Abdurahiman sahib's last speech and gain entry to the world religious map by Mubahala held at 1989.

Kerala had connections with Arabia from the time of Solomon. Arabs traded with Kerala for gold, ivory, monkeys and peacocks. Arab merchants came to Kerala from Egypt long before the Romans. Their main port was Alexandria and ours Kodungallore. Pre Khuran references to black pepper ,swords from India and teak in Arab poetry indicate trade connection to Kerala. It took about 30 to 40 days for Arabs to make the journey to Kerala. There were institutes attached to mosques in Ponnani, Thanoor, Thirurangadi, Parappanangadi, Nadapuram, Kodiyathur, Mahi, Vadakara and Payannur some 700 years ago. In Kodiyathur, the studies were with related to the well known Kodiyathur Jum Masjid. |

Eighteen years have passed since the historical “Muhabala” event took place at Kodiyathoor in Kozhikode district. The event that took place on May 28th, 1989 was held between Anjuman Ishaeth-e-Islam, Kerala and the Ahmmadiya Jamaeth. Forty eminent and learned members comprising of 18 families from each group took to the stage built at the Baduvankutty ground, Koditathur. People thronged in thousands to view this historical event.
